Announcement of Candidates for Board of Retirement General, Safety, and Retired Member Elections
Elections for General Member, Safety Member, Alternate Safety Member, Retired Member, and Alternate Retired Member representatives on the VCERA Board of Retirement will be held on Tuesday, September 29, 2026. The elected members will serve a term commencing on January 1, 2027 until December 31, 2029. The filing deadline was August 5, 2026.

Two candidates submitted filings for the Safety/Alternate Safety Member election:
- Aaron Grass
- Ryan Resnick
Two candidates submitted filings for the Retired Member election:
- Arthur E. “Art” Goulet
- Kelly Hixon Shirk
Two candidates submitted filings for the Alternate Retired Member election:
- Maeve J. Fox
- Christopher Stephens
Official ballot packets, with Instructions for Voting and Candidate Statements, will be distributed by U.S. mail to all eligible voters on August 31. Voted ballots, including mailed ballots, must be returned to the County Elections Office by 5:00 p.m. on September 29.
The results and official election certification will be provided to VCERA by 5:00 p.m. on September 30, and VCERA will submit the certified election results to the Board of Supervisors on October 2.
