2026 VCERA Board of Retirement Elections FAQs
When is the VCERA election, and where can I find information about it?
- Information about the September 29, 2026 VCERA election is posted on our Board Elections page.
- Ballots were mailed August 31, 2026, and must be received by the Ventura County Elections Division no later than September 29. Postmarks will not apply; ballots received after September 29 will not be counted.
- This is an all-mail election, meaning there will be no in-person voting. Please use the ballot you receive in the mail to cast your vote. You must submit your ballot in the return envelope provided AND SIGN on the signature space. You may mail your ballot or place it in the drop box in the Elections Division in the Hall of Administration – Lower Plaza.
Who is on the ballot and what seats are up for election? How long will they serve?
- VCERA has posted an announcement with the list of candidates for each of the Board of Retirement seats.
- VCERA members are eligible to vote in their applicable member category only.
- The candidates who are elected will serve from January 1, 2027 to December 31, 2029.
What if I make mistakes on my ballot? What if I lose my ballot?
- The online request form is available at this link through September 22, 2026. No replacement ballots will be issued after September 22.
- By completing the request form, you affirm that:
- you are an authorized voting member of VCERA
- you need a replacement ballot for this election and you will only request one replacement
- you will only submit one ballot per office for which you are eligible to vote
- A replacement ballot will be mailed for timely received requests. Please do not call the Elections Division or go there to ask for a ballot – replacement ballots will be issued by mail only, and must be requested by the online form.
